Cancelling Contract

I don't use my phone much and have the £5 a month contract, but Virgin Media have just landed me with a £20 extra charge for a phone call I had with THEM!! I've decided therefore to cancel my contract and get a pay a you go. However although it says when you sign up to the contract that you can cancel at any time, it seems impossible to cancel. So I was just wondering how you can go about cancelling the contract online or if you have to call them (and wait on hold)?
Many Thanks

Re: Cancelling Contract

What number did you call? Calls to 789 are free.

If it is a 30 day rolling contract you can give notice any time. If not then you need to call 30 days before the end of your contract.

If you are only spending £5 per month you may well be better on something like the Three 321 tariff.

Re: Cancelling Contract

Hi straughanthomas,

you will have to call them (free) on 789 from your mobile and give 30 days notice of your intent to cancel.

After the period of your last tariff allowance the SIM will become PAYG.

Re: Cancelling Contract

Hi, thanks very much, I'll do that. I called the Virgin Customer Support number as I was getting wifi from them which hadn't arrived cause its an 084 number or something like that, which is an absolute joke

Re: Cancelling Contract

OK 789 from your mobile or 150 and choose the mobile option from your Virgin Landline, which you intimate you have.
