Can't make calls or send texts as mobile in Emergency menu
I am unable to make calls or send texts from my home address because my mobile in only on EM. This has not happened for a while now but has resumed in the last couple of days. Last time it was my local mast, the fault lasted a couple of weeks. Wondered if the forum route might be a quicker way of identifying and sorting the problem.
Still on EM so called tech services to be told I needed a new sim! Would help if Virgin had sent these out before the service was affected or at least warned me in advance (and husband who has a similarly old phone!) Apparently the sim needs an updated chip!
Yes, got the replacement sims, spot on 24 hours after speaking to tech. Unfortunately no change and had to contact tech again this morning. Still on EM at home, out and about things seem OK, if a bit creaky The latest explanation is a mast close to our nearest one has been out for 3 days and the system is most likely ooverloaded. The fault was escalated and it is a matter of wait and see again. Do hope the situation is resolved soon, getting just a little tedious having to contact the elves of Virgin everyday!
