if you are a Virgin Mobile pay as you go customer "Roaming" is active by default on your account.
If you're pay monthly it's necessary to have made three payments (three months) before roaming can be active on your account or you may be asked for a £50 deposit.
You can log into your Virgin Mobile account then click on the "Plan and device" tab.
Go to "Manage my services" > "Roaming" needs to be set to ON & "International call barring" needs to be set to OFF
Whilst still in the UK I would recommend calling Virgin customer services on 789 just to check that everything is set OK their side in your account.
