Can I still use our Nokia 2310's for trip from U.S. to Scotland?

My husband and I will be in Scotland for a month this Spring and have 2 old Nokia 2310 mobile phones purchased on a trip to London over the Christmas holidays in 2007.  We also have an E-top-up card with what I believe is an expiration date of 10/17.

Can we still use these phones for our upcoming trip and would we get decent reception in The Highlands?  We would only need these phones for basic calling and emergencies while on the road.  We both have IPads which we will use to communicate with family at home using FaceTime and texting with wifi.

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Thank you for your help!  But isn't coverage in The Highlands spotty with most mobile phones?  We will be in Edinburgh for a week, then Ballater for a week, Aviemore for 5 nights, Isle of Skye for 2 nights, Kenmore for 5 nights and finally Glasgow for 3 nights.

Very appreciative for any insight.

I currently use an older Nokia as a car spare phone. It works fine using a Virgin Mobile SIM  however the screen display denotes the service provider as "T Mobile"  don't worry as it will actually be on Virgin.

Hi Semperfimom Smiley Happy

Welcome to the forums Smiley Happy

Dannylau is correct here. The sims inside the phone will have been de-activated through non use.

If you pop into a Virgin store when you're in the UK, you can pick up a sim. You can find your nearest store to your destination here

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Mat

The phones will work, the numbers may have been reclaimed if you haven't used them for 9 years, coverage is the highlands would be spotty due to the nature of the terrain
