Well after being on hold for what I estimate as being around half an hour or more, the manager said that someone else would give me a call later to finish processing the order as I didn't want to give my bank details again. A credit check has already been done and Virgin lied about the results. Each time someone runs a credit check against your name it looks bad on your credit score. I've already had a problem with various different companies running check on me for no reason without my permission so I didn't want them to do another. Due to this, they said the order had to be processed with the original sale representative, which I think is absolutely ridiculous. She said that this should happen by the end of the day and said goodbye. I said I had another question but she hung up on me.
I sent an email to the complaints department. It is address to Gisele, as she dealt with the original complaint, but a response from anyone would be good!
This whole 'take out a loan to get a phone' thing is disgraceful, and leads to situations like this. And, as the OP says, can lead to unwanted credit checks against you. Bad move to force this in us, Virgin. You seem to be doing this a lot, lately - making blanket decisions about what we want, and how we want it. Where's the choice?
