Apple iphone 4 apps

I have been given an iPhone 4, my daughter's cast off. It has the latest available ios 7.1.2 for this phone. When I try to download new apps it tells me that I need at least ios 8. Does anyone know how I can get the " old " apps ?

If I had an iPhone 4 I would recycle it with Apple and purchase the new 4 inch iPhone

The only way to get old apps is if they had been previously downloaded and synced to your computer via iTunes. You could then sync them back onto the phone.   Therefore if your sister had done this you could sync those apps onto this phone but you would may need her apple id and password.

Thanks bluesaffliction,

It's unlikely that she will have installed the apps that I am looking for. It seems that Apple Products have a very short life on support. I had Android before and it seemed more versatile.

Millions of Android phones were infected with Malware just the other week that is how versatile they are Smiley Happy

Tidus, if I threw out things, just because they were old, Grumpy-Grandma would have gone years ago. LOL

Re: Apple iphone 4 apps

Your iPhone 4 is the last model to be removed from support by apple. the 4S next one up is still fully supported but runs slow on the latest iOS.

Re: Apple iphone 4 apps

Thanks Folks,

I checked the exchange price it came back at £0. That's what it cost me anyway. I have decided that it works well enough for now.

It's not worth spending hundreds of pounds to enable the few apps that I am missing. There are ways around the problem.

Thanks again,

Grumpy.
