Activating new SIM taking longer than 24 hrs

My S3 mini suddenly lost network connection on Wednesday. Customer service said it was the 11-yr old SIM at fault so sent a new one, arriving Friday. Activated it by phone - they said it can take just 10 mins or up to 24 hrs.

40 hrs later it is still dead. Why do you lie about the activation period Virgin?

55 hours now. Just how long does it take to activate a SIM?

 

Your customer service agent promised to personally take charge of this and said she would call me to inform me of progress, especially if there was any problem about resolving the issue by 16:30 GMT today. I have heard nothing.

 

Virgin, you are liars and can not be trusted.

Just spoken to CS again. They tell me that there is a "glitch in the system" and it will take 3-5 working days to resolve.

 

Needless to say, I don't believe this time-scale for a moment.

Can a Virgin rep please elucidate? What is the glitch?

 

Apparently Mark Davidson is the UK Operations Manager. Does anyone have his email address please?

64 hours and no activation. No word from "Janice" who promised to take personal charge of this.

Still no Network connection. As I've said on a newer thread  I now think this is not an activation issue. I believe that Virgin have screwed up my phone number/account somehow. The symptoms are just the same as when the old SIM was in and suddenly lost the network connection.
I'll abandon this thread and update the other when anything happens.

Have you turned of your phone off and then back on again, that's what i did after 12hrs of waiting and it was working all along, d0h!

That's the first thing I did xxamine! Thanks for the reply.
In fact this happened a few months ago, and I turned off the phone, took out the SIM, reinserted it, checked Network Connection and it solved the problem.

So, again, I took the SIM out and put it back. Tried it in my previous phone, (a Galaxy S3 that now has a temporary emergency SIM in it while Virgin try to fix this problem that appears to be unique to me Smiley Sad )  and it didn't work in that either.

 

I keep rebooting, as advised by tech support, and I've even booted into the admin interface and cleared the cache, as I do from time to time.

Ahhhh, sorry ya still havin' an issue, Monday you say, fingers crossed.
