Account Action Required - message from Google ?

Over the past couple of weeks I keep getting a message on my Moto G saying "Account Action Required" , which I am fairly certain is from Google. I have tried downloading the App, as requested, and tried to log on the Google Server but cannot do so. I think the problem is related to my "ntlworld.com" email address but I do also have a gmail account (but don't use it).

This happens about 20 times a day and is getting really annoying.

Can anyone give me the definitive way to stop this please ?

I do know that Virgin are moving away from Google for their email service and taking it in house.

 

May be something to do with that.
