APN settings

Hi,

I have a new unlocked phone and have received my new pay monthly Virginmedia Micro sim, the phone is working ok for calls texts and on WiFi with no problem.

But the Data service doesn't work. I have looked at the APN and it says:-

 

T-Mobile UK

general.t-mobile.uk

 

Picture Message

general.t-mobile.uk

 

I assume this is the reason?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem when I changed to the Carphone Warehouse's 'iD Mobile' service and this site resolved my issues.

The APN doesn't seem to be the problem.
I looked on my other phone (also on Virgin) that is set to the APN goto.virginmobile.uk
But after a bit of google searching I found two WiFi settings different.
Network notification was set to ON
Scanning always available was set to ON
I have now turned these to off and Data now works ok.
