Why do I get a maximum of 25mb/s download on 4G+ when it is capable of delivering speeds way beyond this? Same with excellent signal strength & someone sat beside me using EE network (Virgin piggybacks onto EE) can get around 100mb/s! I previously used TPO who also piggyback onto EE & could get around 60mb/s on just 4G. Tests done at weekend in City Centre when data usage is relatively low.
I know it's not official Virgin, that's why it scores imo because it's independent & is only really about 4G issues. Anyone who's selling something will always tell you what they want you to hear & believe!
Yeah, ok, was having a chat on a social media page with someone else from VM & they swore blind that Virgin's 4G WASN'T capped...... conflicting stories apparently! It's not like I use mobile data loads but when you read that 4G+ speeds can be well in excess of 100mb/s from EE it feels like being sold short.
What they probably meant was the speed was not capped like the old 3G tariffs. Once you reached 3.5 MB usage you speed was restricted to bog standard 3G (useless for much of today's applications.) Now it is 25mb/s whatever you use.
Not defending Virgin. My main phone is not with them as I need roaming that I know is going to work seamlessly.
