40p charge for a picture message to USA??

Hi My bill is showing a 40p charge for a picture message to USA & Canada this month. I didn't send this. Any help on why this has been charged to me please?

Many thanks

Re: 40p charge for a picture message to USA??

A search of the forum will show that this seems to happen when an SMS is sent to an e-mail address by mistake. It's easy enough to do, especially if you call up details of the recipient via your contacts.

If you know who it was sent to, the first thing to do is to check how they appear in your contacts.

Hi lynjay

May I just check if you've been able to get to the bottom of this?

Many thanks

Re: 40p charge for a picture message to USA??

As enlli said it's when you mistakenly send an SMS to an email address.

I think the question that needs answering is why Virgin speak means that sending a picture to the USA doesn't actually mean sending a picture to the USA.

It's been happening for years and when I phoned in was aggressively told that I had sent a picture and should be able to remember something like that. Silly of me.

It's just Virgins way of running a business - good isn't it.
