£170 to reinstate the warranty

Hi People.

I recently sent my samsung S6 in for repair because the screen has become unresponsive to touch and there is discoloured pixels at the top right of the screen coinciding with this fault. Got a phone call today saying because there was a small crack in the screen at the bottom left corner, informed them of this before it was sent off, the warranty is invalid but if i pay £170 to reinstate the warranty the will then invesigate the fault. It will be a year old in May. I've got much worse cracks in my older S6 and never had the screen die on me.Just wondered if the community thought this was  a fair price to pay.

Thanks

Re: £170 to reinstate the warranty

No. Happens far too often - a slight mark and they refuse warranty.

Samsung service centres will give you advice on this. http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/servicelocation/
