tivo

An engineer came out last week as we had a fault with a phone socket, he explained that is now virgin policy to check all services. What he did not tell us is that he was adding a white plastic fitting onto the coax cable - could you tell me what it is for and why he did not advise us he was putting it there please? I rang into virgin and fsoc said it was to tidy up our cables but it is obviously not for that as it feeds into the tivo - it is cylindrical and about 2.5" long - Kind Regards

Re: tivo

At a first guess it sounds like it's an isolator. Depending your property first had cable installed, then it may not have one. New cable installs have isolators built into the wall points

The isolator prevents helps prevent damage to your internal equipement, or damage to Virgin's external network from electrical surges.
