newbie tivo queries

Hi

I've just gone from a basic box to a tivo. Few questions.

Is there any way of stopping the remote making irritating beeps on menus?

On the basic box when it catch up its possible to scroll a whole page down or up with use of red/green button. This option appears to have been removed on Tivo. Is this correct? Its very time consuming going down a line at a time.

Also on a basic box there's the option to set a reminder when a program starts, I can only fine remind and record on tivo, is the reminder option no longer available?

Thanks

Hi s5tella

Home ---->Help and Settings -> Settings --->Audio -> Sound Effects Volume.

That will get rid of the beeps.

Re: newbie tivo queries

I'm not sure what you mean by number 2. Perhaps you could explain further.

Record and Remind is the same as Remind but better.

It will turn the channel over for you and, if you are not there to watch, it will record it so you don't miss it.

Re: newbie tivo queries

I don't want to record it though, that just means my son records loads of kids programs when all he wanted to do was make it turn over so he could watch. Then I sit there and delete them all.....

Re: newbie tivo queries

Hi Stella regarding TV guide quicker access if when you are on the guide you can go a page at a time by using the channel up & down button, you also set your favourites. Home>help&settings>settings>favourites>then thumbs up on channels, follow on screen instructions then hit finished, once set up select guide then blue button that gets favourites & hopefully stop you wading through lots of programmes. Alas reminder only comes with record on TiVo, nothing's perfect, hope this was some help regards. Micky

Re: newbie tivo queries

Also hit home>help&settings>help>TiVo box&remote> that gives on screen a whole list of tips on working TiVo. Micky
