my Tivo box

can someone please explain WHY you have to keep rebooting my tivo box

WHILE im watching it ?

surely it would be nicer if you did that when the box was in stand by mode.

that would mean no one is watching it.

now i sit here again while i wait ages for this crappy box to reboot and come back on.

while i miss the program i was watching....

the box is slow on responce.

recordings now stop and start when played back.

dont like being paused or rewound.

maybe time to see what deals sky are doing ?

Re: my Tivo box

They're not rebooting it. Your box is at the end of its life and needs replacing. If you'd rung virgin up for help they'd probably replaced it by now. You need to ring to book an engineer

this btw is primarily a user forum. It's for TiVo users to help other TiVo users. If you want to contact virgin best phone. While there are mods on here they can't possibly look at every post.

Re: my Tivo box

Hi T0rNaDo69,

Thank you for coming in and posting your comment, welcome back.

I am sorry that there's been some rebooting with the TiVo recently. I have been looking into this and I'm not seeing a great deal of anything that would show up as an issue.

Can you please tell me if this is ongoing?

Ben

Re: my Tivo box

thanks Parrotperson for the comments.

hi

not seen any rebooting lately, but i was told last time that a tuner has gone in the box.

and the engineer said they cant do magic LOL and said they should of put down a new box required.

instead of an engineer trying to fix it..

didn't want to swap it out as of all the recordings on the box.

so thought il suffer with it and get the recordings watch and transferred off.

but im not able to watch them or record them over to a DVR now.

as on playback they stop and start, jump back and forth. wont forward etc.

Re: my Tivo box

Hey again T0rNaDo69 Smiley Happy

Thank you for coming back and letting me know about the TiVo, it would seem that this box really does need replacing, as the recordings on the hard drive are now being affected by and issue with the hard drive itself.

Apart from the hard drive, all of your tuners seem to be behaving today but this is something that could change. I've sent you a 'Private Message', you can find this by clicking on the little purple envelope near the top right of the page.

Stay in touch and have a great day.
