Why do I need to enter my password when watching a recorded show?

I am curious why when watching some recordings that I have made of shows that do not need a password to watch. require one to watch the recording.

Can I do anything to bypass this please?

Many Thanks

The control is located at: Home > Help & Settings > Parental Controls > Request a PIN to Watch Recordings. I hope it works for you.

It could be because the recordings were made after 9.00pm and you are viewing them before this time.

If there are only adults in the house, just turn the password feature off completely.

Re: Why do I need to enter my password when watching a recorded show?

There are some bugs in Tivo that can cause this and despite promises of updates nothing happens. I don't know if this is relevant in this case. If it is, there is nothing you can do to stop it.

Re: Why do I need to enter my password when watching a recorded show?

With planned recordings, I think the default setting adds 4 mins to the end of the programme - so an hour long episode starting at 8.00pm would extend after the 9.00pm time frame and therefore require a pin number when viewing.

See my message above for instructions on turning the parental PIN off completely.
