Virgin TV V6 box 4K content?

On the https://keepup.virginmedia.com/befirst/?cs page it lists YouTube and Netflix only. Is the plan not to provide access to Sky 4K Ultra HD channels?

Re: Virgin TV V6 box 4K content?

Will they provide content from Sky Sports in 4k?

Will they provide content from BT Sports in 4k?

Who knows? VM won't even tell us when the box is launching, let alone channel content.

They're not saying what's going to be available

It's a bit poor then. Sky Q is out, 4K channels are out and the only thing they confirm for 4K is Netflix and YouTube in (which my TV does already and more?).

There is only one 4K channel which BT are holding to themselves - it is not even available to many BT subscribers.

Sky have an interactive 4k service which offers Live Premier League Football - and are not making it available to anyone else.

That's just good business - why give access to 4k sport  , sky atlantic.... to Virgin when they can keep those things as exclusives to entice customers to switch

& 4k streaming support has lots of alternative delivery methods: , Roku 4, Fire Tv, Nvidia Sheild, and it's built in to many new smart 4k TVs

so wanting a Tivo for 4k netflix, amazon video is not smart, they can't even deliver basic Netflix well on the current box, and I doubt they will ever have amazon video.

bear in mind also that recording, not streaming, 4K, will use 4 x the disc space of HD.

Re: Virgin TV V6 box 4K content?

you say thats just good business, but thats not always the reason. It would be good business for BT not to give access to they're fibre network to other companies but they are forced too. Also is it not good business to sell these channels to virgin for a large amount of money up front instead of trying to gain a few £30 customers here and there.

Virgin sold their TV channels to sky a few years ago, may be they should have kept them. It would have been a good bargaining chip.
