Hi - after being Virgin Media customers for TV, Broadband and Phone for 13 years, we are totally fed up with clunky, freeze-every-night Tivo... we are about to move house (just two streets away) in the Watchetts Area and are considering getting Sky TV in our new home, but sticking with VM for broadband and phone. We want to keep our landline number if possible.
Has anyone else in the area done this, and have you found any problems/pitfalls doing it this way? Obviously, we do know that it is usually cheaper to get everything from the one provider, but we have heard that VM's fibre broadband is still the best, so we are reluctant to ditch that for Sky's broadband if it is not as good. If it means paying a little bit extra to escape the horror that it Tivo, so be it.

Thanks for the info - is this Virgin Media Broadband you're talking about? Because our issue is not with VM broadband, it's with the Terrible Tivo service... I see you are in London (if the picture you posted is any guide) which also means, I think, that speeds may be different for us here in Camberley... but thank you, I will look into it.
Aha... that makes sense! I wonder if it is more expensive ...? We are already paying over £100 a month (which includes a sports package we didn't want and never watch!), would rather like to reduce our bills but doubt we would qualify as a 'new customer'... will have to talk to them. How does this Tivo compare to the previous one? We regretted changing from the box (V+?) almost as soon as we'd done it, have never got on with Tivo, so we are a little wary.
