Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

Why can't I access Channel 159 on my Tivo Box?

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

It is only available to viewers on selected networks in London - where are you?

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

My neighbour who just watches freeview picks this channel up in this area but us Virgin subscribers who pay for their service can't access this channel. If they can pick it up with no problem why an,t I do the same. I would switch over to freeview but I don,t have a standard ariel.

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

The fact they get it doesn't mean it is for them  -   London Live only provide there service to VirginMedia and Sky EPGs to those within London.

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

London Live only has a licence to operate inside the M25 boundry, so only Virgin's London Headends can carry the service. Freeview will always have some "overspill" reception, so if you can get it on that consider yourself lucky. A Local service licence has been awarded for the Berkshire/Reading area, so you may see this appear on 159 when services are launched, as your local headend will be in the target service area.

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

That's TV seem not to want to do deals with Sky and/or VirginMedia - so all are currently Freeview only.

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

Noddie did an excellent piece of research for you. That baton has been picked up by ThatsTV and ThatsBerkshire is "coming soon". That'll be over Freeview from Hannington and I donb't know what VM will do - most likely offer it.

Btw, I regret having taken down my London pointing aerial (I kept the Hannington one) as I too would have liked to watch London 159. I live in the Wokingham area too.

Have a look at their website & the opposite seems to be the case.

Thats Solent is now available on Virgin, after a short delay, & I have no doubt cable licences for the rest have been applied for.

Re: Virgin Channel 159 - London Live

Don't believe the That's TV website.

They have announced twice they have launched the Oxford service on VirginMedia  -  they removed it each time after I complained they were telling porkies.

I would only believe it when somebody confirms they have it.
