Re: Very slow tivo box

Hi gregory8391,

Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear you're having a bit of TiVo® trouble.

How slow are the boxes? Which areas of the TiVo® are slow (channel changing, menu navigation etc.)?

Look forward to hearing from you!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Very slow tivo box

Hi

It is menu navigation that is my problem on both tivo boxes and when I navigate to watch a recorded show I get a blank screen for up to 10 seconds but mainly going through the menu when i invariably get the spinning ring.

Re: Very slow tivo box

Hi gregory8391,

Thanks for the response!

There's a trick I'd like you to try to help speed up the box.

Just go to the Home screen and on the remote control press Thumbs Down, Thumbs Up, Play, Play. You'll hear a 'ping' noise and the screen will go blank for a few seconds. Once it comes back on, try navigating the menus again to see if it's made any difference.

Look forward to hearing from you!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Very slow tivo box

Looks like Virgin Media are determined to ignore the problem and persist with silly tricks. Nothing wrong with Virgin Tivo, the problem is the customers, eh?

(Just for the record, the "trick" does nothing to solve the problems made worse in the last update).

Re: Very slow tivo box

It won't. It just restarts the UI. In the long run, it causes Tivo MORE work.

Someone is running a poll on what people think of the "major" upgrade and new price hike. 30% leave, 35% downgrade tv, 29% give it some time, 5% carry on.
