V6 Upgrade--Can I keep Tivo Box?

I have Mix bundle on my Tivo so, from what I have read today, I will pay £99.99 to upgrade to the new V6 box. Can I keep the Tivo box and use it upstairs where I already have connections from an old V+ box years ago, or do I have to return it?. Would there be any extra cost. Early days I know and might be no answer to this yet.

Doh! Forget it, just realised Tivo needs internet connection that I don't have upstairs.

It only needs an internet connection if you intend to stream content between boxes. If you do, Powerline connectors will do the job, you don't need to run Ethernet.

I thought the Tivo needed a dedicated internet connection for things like 'catch up' and 'on demand'?.

Nearly - Not only does the TiVo need a dedicated internet connection, but it already has one through the coax you connect it to the VM network with.
No Ethernet needed.

Re: V6 Upgrade--Can I keep Tivo Box?

The coax upstairs was put in around 15 years ago for whatever box it was in those days. Is it still the type of coax the Tivo needs?. If it is then I'm back to my original question.

it's the same, though the V6 comes with a different connection and an adapter, and Yes you can keep your Tivo if you pay an extra £5 per month

Still VM - they own it, so it's their responsibility.
