I was experiencing loads of partial recordings and phoned 150 and advised to clear and reset my Tivo, it gets stuck at 25% preparing channels, phoned 150 again and had to book an engineer. Is my Tivo dead then? I've got to wait until Wednesday for the vist :-( do I get a refund?

I'm sorry to hear that the TiVo® service has stopped working for you after doing a clear & reset. I can see you have an engineer calling round which is great to see. It is hard to say if the service can be fixed without needing to replace the box at this point. The engineer will be able to let you know when they've checked it all out for you.
I wanted to take this opportunity to to let you know that, if the box should be replaced, you can copy over the current TiVo® settings to the new box. Instructions are here: Copy TiVo® Settings Page. It will save you time in setting up your series links and wishlists all over again.
