Tivo box update stuck on stage 1 of 3

Found yesterday that the TiVo box was doing an update (presumably overnight).

The update is stuck on stage 1 of 3. The bar moves along in chunks, gets to the end and then starts again. We have rebooted, and tried turning it off, unplugging it from the mains, wait a few hours and then try again.

We've called VM, and an engineer is due Tuesday.

Curious if anyone else has got this problem, or if there is anything else we can try...

Engineers came and replaced the TiVo.

New one looks to be fine (though recordings and schedules all lost).

If your TiVo box has been swapped for a new one or you have taken an extra TiVo box you can copy some settings to the new box when it’s on the same account.
