Tivo box On demand service next to useless

my tivo box hasn't worked with regard to catch up and on demand service since AT LEAST LAST FRIDAY.  Surely there is something in the "Trades Description Act" which bans anyone from offering such a poor quality product/service?  Having only moved from Sky to Virgin a few months ago, I feel really cheated.  This box is not fit for purpose!  It's slow, complex beyond words, and now you can't even provide the On Demand service you promise, for FIVE DAYS!  My V+ box upstairs works no problem
