Tivo Box

My Tivo is now so slow it is useless.

Just seen that Virgin are about to launch a new box = presumably to fix the current problems

When will it be available

Will we have to pay extra to replace Tivo s that are not delivering a service

Re: Tivo Box

The current TiVo problem is being investigated and will be fixed.

The new box is a new box and you should expect to pay a premium if you wish to switch when it is available, as it has additional function over the current TiVo.

Do you have any evidence for this?

The new box is a new box and you should expect to pay a premium if you wish to switch when it is available, as it has additional function over the current TiVo.

Does that mean that, unlike the current Tivo, the new box actually works?

So VM plan, despite the current price increase, to charge their customers a premium so that they can have a working service?

Re: Tivo Box

The new V6 box is running TiVO firmware with a some enhancements, & you will be paying for the enhancements (UHD amongst them) with a monthly fee.

As far as fixing the existing TiVO issues, Ernie is correct in what he says. This is where SU group is a little more ahead of the rest of the forum, & when we able to say more, we will.

You can pay extra for Netflix 4K if you wish, if and when they get the app to work. Otherwise it is not much different so I guess it is just as cheap to release a new cheap box rather than undo the performance faults that broke the old one. Not as if they can charge you to borrow the same firmware on a cheap box that might not be a Tivo in a year or twos time, when they replace the firmware with something totally different.

Our little clique know more than you do, so there.

One can only hope that, if your little clique is involved in the testing, then you have upped your game following the last two disastrous updates.

Do tell.

Re: Tivo Box

Fix is being rolled out now and should be finished by end of November. See post in forum from mods

interested to see if it does indeed fix the problem.
