Tivo Box stuck on 'starting up'

I have seen a few posts on this, and have tried all sorts to get our Tivo box back online. We have three other boxes all working fine so i know the service is okay.

Done the Warm Reset, it worked properly for a few minutes then crashed. Tried again and managed to do a complete erase and reset. But crashed shortly afterwoods.

Tried the 'unplugging the HDMI and Booting it first then plugging in the HDMI, without success.

Has not managed to get past 'Starting Up' since...

Any fresh ideas out there?

Hi colinparish,

Welcome to the Community.

I've located your account and can see that you already have a technician booked out for this.

Let me know how the appointment goes and if you get any more issues I'll do my best to sort if out for you!

All the best

Josh

Re: Tivo Box stuck on 'starting up'

Hello Josh,

The engineer swapped the box out with a new one. Turns out he and his colleagues had a high number of boxes go down all at the same time, in fact he had already replaced 3 on the morning he visited us, and had to go and fetch one, as he did not have any left in his van!

Sounds like this was an incompatible firmware update that has taken out some of the older boxes, as a straightforward software update can normally be easily reversed.

Kind regards, Colin.

Re: Tivo Box stuck on 'starting up'

Hi colinparish,

Hope you don't mind me replying on Josh's behalf.

Thanks for the update regarding your engineer visit.

Hopefully this has sorted the fault for you now and the TiVo® continues to behave itself. Smiley Wink

If you need any further help, please do not hesitate to drop us another post!

Thanks again,
