TiVo box switches to RESTART on its own, any reason for this fault?

Tivo box goes to RESTART on its own quite frequently, any reasons for this ?

hi there geofftechno, 

 

I'm really sorry to hear that your TiVo® box has been going to restart recently, this must be really annoying. 

 

I've done some testing on your TiVo® and to be honest with you I can not see any reason for this, all the power levels seem to be spot on, and the hard drive is not reporting any issues at all. 

 

The tests did show that the box had been online for the last two days, so this would say that it's not done a restart in the last 48 hours, how regularly are you seeing this message?

 

Is the box definitely restarting, as it may be going into standby, when I did my testing the box was in standby - if this is the case, then it could be one of the settings in the TiVo®. The power saving setting will pop the TiVo® into standby when it's not been used in some time, so something worth checking would be this option. On the remote do the following

 

HOME > HELP AND SETTINGS > SETTINGS > DEVICES > POWER SAVING SETTINGS

 

From this screen you are able to disable this setting.

Apologies for delay in my reply. Have checked settings etc and these  are set for Sleep mode. However the box was going DIRECTLY  to RESTART and not Standby, so the settings area should not have an effect on my box. Since my forum message I have to say that  currently and for the last week or so no further "hiccups" have occurred.

Thanks for your help, I will monitor the situation.
