TiVo box not starting up

My TiVo box is stuck on the Starting Up screen despite several attempts at resetting. I have noted that this is reasonably common as per other threads but do not have a Virgin phone service so am reluctant to phone due to costs. Why do Virgin not have a webchat option?!
