Hi bit of a silly question but I need to know what the cable is called that goes from the TiVo box to the wall? Like an aerial cable but kind of screws on. Looking to put my box further away from the wall outlet but the cable we have is very short. Thanks in advance!
You would need to get virgin media to move the tivo. you cannot buy the cable VM uses and also you are not meant to tamper with any of the cabling as it makes part of the VM network and if you mess it up you will not only cause issues on your installation but also to anyone who is connected to your streetcab and will result in either your cable being disconnected or a filter put on to block the noise caused by your non VM cable (in both cases loss of service to you).

It's specialised VM co-axial cable that can't be bought. If you want it extended ask VM to do it. £99. But if you try yourself you'll be in breach of your terms and conditions - the cable is part of VM's network, not yours. Do it yourself and you'll likely upset your power levels and those of anyone else connected to your part of the main network. VM will spot this and can disconnect your services and charge you for putting things right.

Thanks for your replies. So basically I have to pay Virgin Media to come and put a longer cable in because they didn't put a long enough one in the first time? Sounds about right! It's not like I want to move it to another room, it's a few metres, and the cable they put in in the first place is literally less than a metre long Never mind, thanks for your help guys!
I would imagine its RG6 75 ohm co-axial cable which can be bought relatively cheaply, a drum of 100m for around a tenner, less depending on where you buy it. The problem is, you will need a specialised tool for crimping the connectors. I expect that can't easily be bought. And unless the cable and connectors are properly crimped, you're walking into a minefield of problems. Signals will be up the left and down the right, but most certainly not straight. Then you'll need to get an engineer out who will waggle their finger at you and tell you that you've been a naughty bunny and you'll get a big bill from VM for messing with equipment that doesn't belong to you.

Did they install it where you asked them to?
Nice to be able to post again, after their mistake (removed by the Censorship team). ¡No Pasarán!
