Both TiVo boxes have visible glitches. Pixelated in small regions at various times of the day. Channel 200 alibi HD and channel 150 differ most. It's an annoyance at the moment and not severe. The screen has a corrupt horizontal line occasionally too. This happens on both TiVo's. Catch up and on demand OK.
Noticed in the TiVo diag menu that there are occasional uncorrected errors.
Logged into broadband modem and noticed high uncorrectable errors and very high correctable errors. Noticed that my internet sometimes times out. Thought it was a bad WiFi signal but now suspect the modern signal.
Can you take a look please? I already called CS, told to restart TiVo's. No joy.
On the box downstairs at 0950 Return power 39dbmv , for channel 200: Tuner 0 has snr 43db, 79% sig, RS uncorrectable 1 or 2 every few seconds. No RS correctable problems. Tuner 1 CH 200, has snr 38db, 75% sig, 20-40 corrected RS ever 2 seconds or so, no uncorrected RS. Tuner 2 CH 150, sig 79%, snr 37%, 10- 20 corrected RS, 0 uncorrected rs.
Right now the Picture looks OK on 150 and 200.
Usually at night, 200 is the most affected. It sometimes causes the sound to break up but that's probably once a week. Visible artefacts range from none, to partial blocking (pixelated) of something that moved like a persons head, or body. Sometimes a horizontal line glitches. Overall, it's quite minor but HD should be perfect right?
Since it's now started to annoy me, I'll keep a note of when it occurs.
The broadband modem has an uptime of 90 days so I suppose the errors detected are not all that bad. I remember it used to have no uncorrected errors so when I saw it had several thousand it was quite alarming.
Thank you for coming in today and posting your comment. I'm sorry to hear that the TV and broadband hasn't been working as well as I'd have liked.
I've been looking into all of the services in the home and I've not been able top see anything outright that would `be causing an effect as such. I'd like to ask in regards to the TV if this is happening in the evening or is this all through the day?
Also as for the broadband, I've not seen anything out of the ordinary and checking on the data I have now, you're locking on well to all downstreams and upstreams with no timeouts.
For the internet, I think one of my access points had started to fail. I've 2 SOHO/business access points coming tomorrow. But your right about it locking on OK. No T1-4s registered. So must be good. I'll reset the stats tomorrow and see how the new access points cope.
TV happens more at night but is apparent on HD channels most. 4HD, 1HD, 5HD and alibiHD are what we watch and all affected to various degree (least affected to most). One other chap posted screen shots of the visual effect and mine is the same. A horizontal row or patchwork of squares. I'll dig out his link in a minute. The audio is affected occasionally on 5HD and alibiHD.
Like I said it's minor at the moment, except alibi which spoils the audio a bit too frequent.
Thank you for coming back to me so soon and resetting the data on the broadband side, I'm sure there won't be issues but in case they do it speeds things up.
I've had a look at the boxes in the home and I can see that they have had some T3 timeouts here, what is interesting is they have the same amount. I would like to get this looked at and I'd like to send someone out to you.
I've sent you a 'Private Message', you can find this by clicking on the little purple envelope near the top right of the page.
