Me too, stuck on stage 1 since 7.30am this morn - turned it off at 1800, went through stages 2/3, it restarted, now 'installing software'.... For 18mins so far?! Is it stuck? Probably - yet as I type this, the screen refreshed itself - but alas, still installing... 20mins so far... Now it's done. Moan over, but I will post anyway to give others hope.
Ok, so as I had some series link programs that were due to record tonight, I took the plunge and switched it off...and on again. After another 45 minutes it has updated and is working now.
These updates are pretty poorly handled...they tell you not to turn it off, and yet you are left not knowing if it is working or if it is stuck. And then if it is stuck, what else are you supposed to do but turn it off!
The update has installed, but ever since the update the TIVO has been running very very slow. For example, there is about a 10-15 second delay from when you press play on a recorded show to when it actually plays! Did a restart of the box, but made no difference, still frustratingly slow.
I'm massively sorry for the problems you're experiencing at the moment, we are aware of an issue with our TiVo service and are working hard to resolve it, you can keep up to date with the issue by keeping an eye on [this thread].
