TIVO installation problem - connection not found - pls help?

So not doing well here - called for Activation

Started - but at the 'Installing Software' screen it says

Connecting - Service not found.

 

I know Broadband is working fine - I've connected the white cable from the wall into the TIVO box, but does it make a difference that the hub is upstairs?

 

I telephoned but the lady said it takes up to an hour - well it's been 20 mins plus that now.

Can anyone help please?

Not resolved here - phoned again and they said their engineers are working flat-out to resolve the problem.  He re-sent activation signal - but still no joy.  Looks like there'll be no TV watching for me tonight.

Still no connection - service not found.

 

Does it make any difference that the HUB is upstairs?

no,it makes no difference,my hub is in the same room and i have same problem.they sending someone out on friday to sort it

Just a quick update:

 

Phoned again literally 5 mins ago and they have a fix that worked for my unit over the phone.

Whoop whoop!  Well done VM Team - great customer service lady.  Thanks.

I don't suppose the lady on the phone told what the fix was? I'm having the same problem myself!

Having the very same problem. Just moved home and have new superhub and TiVo box to self-install. Broadband is working fine but TiVo box can't get past the "connecting" stage of the software install, just keeps saying "service not found". Help!!!

Turn the tivo off.
Press 'Tv' , 'channel down' , 'record' buttons on the tivo together without removing your fingers turn on the tivo.

Remove your fingers after a minute. Wait till software installation pass.
