TIVO DESPERATELY NEEDS:

I got the Tivo in the year of our lord 1634

Since then it has been in desperate need of the ability to:

  1. Consecutive recording should be made by the ONE tuner not TWO
  2. List programmes by time/date (not channel) - People will watch their favourite film when  its on, they wont wait until it's on BBC1 and thats the way it should be displayed
  3. Wishlists should have option to record in SD
  4. Wishlist should be able to find Movie 'Premiers' (where last aired = TODAY)

These could be programmed by a degree student in half a day

Re: TIVO DESPERATELY NEEDS:

Regarding 2; As you may know, Virgin Media Tivo used to have exactly that (as per UK Tivo Series 1) and it was quick, simple and extremely useful. However, they decided to remove those screens, allegedly because it was too much bother to convert the screen from SD to HD, or perhaps more likely, they wanted to force everyone to use the very slow, clunky, unusable mess called Browse which is full of stuff they can make more money from.  Even worse you have to create a silly non-recording wishlist and waste hours looking at spinning circles and not really achieving anything.

I complained at the time they planned to remove it, that it was one of the most useful features but as with everything else they break including suggestions and Dolby Digital they don't seem to listen.
