Snail TiVo Box since July..

Posted This in Wrong Forum...so here is my question...  By the way I am more than happy for a comment from Virgin Media...  (Save me a few hours waiting on an automated phone line)

Anyone else had a very slow TiVo box for the past month?

Even deleting recordings can take up to 20 secs. Waiting for My Shows can take even longer.

I get the C501 randomly.

Yes, I have deleted all suggestions and preferences for thumbs up.

I am only at 38% capacity and have manually deleted all old recordings that were previously deleted just to clear the drive.

What really winds me up are the facile notices in the banner which ask "notice anything different with your TiVo?"

YES!!!  Latest software changes appear not properly tested before roll-out.

Any advice to achieve the level of service I am charged for ?

You are not alone Virgin are very quiet on the subject. Perhaps a Facebook complaints page might get them to take notice..

Not give good confidence, they say "fixed", then same thing do next day.

Re: Snail TiVo Box since July..

Josh_RW of the forum team has identified a fix for user Johnny Bristol in a post... I have requested a similar diagnostic from him... perhaps if we all do ??

Re: Snail TiVo Box since July..

As well as clearing all suggestions and preferences, I got this helpful advice from Josh of the Virgin Forum team and it worked.. To clear the cache on the TiVo® just go to the Home screen and press Thumbs Down, Thumbs Up, Play, Play. You'll hear a 'ping' noise and the screen will go blank for a few seconds. After 30 seconds the screen came back on and the box was much faster... Hope this helps others. Peter
