Slow TIVO

I received a new TiVo 1Tb box just over a month ago after the  old box started freezing and pixellating. At first all was well but after the box was was updated it has gone on a go-slow. Whilst watching live TV if I check the planner I lose 5 to 10 seconds of the live programme, before the planner screen appears.Try to watch something from the planner and there's nearly time to make a cup of tea! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! If it is meant to be an upgrade it should be better, not worse.I have even been checking out Sky Q boxes. Do something or you may lose a customer.

Re: Slow TIVO

Tivo "works" without a vm card.

Tivo is slower since the "upgrade". A re-boot may help a little but within an hour mine was back to a crawl : (

Virgin Media (LG) are so large your money won't be missed.

Virgin Media leads the field and has the fastest and most stable broadband IMO.

It's the 21st century...nothing is perfect.

I use an HD Freeview PVR (DVR) which is lightning fast and has more channels.

The tivo also has it's uses but can be affected by memory problems and other annoyances.

It is however pretty stable (usually). It also has 'free' repairs and if necessary free replacements.

Virgin Media is not owned by Ruthless Rupe (Murdoch).

The choice is yours : )   B

Re: Slow TIVO

Thanks for the reply. I can't explain it but since I posted about the problem the TiVo box speed has improved! It's still slow but nowhere near as bad as before.

Re: Slow TIVO

There is a workaround for this go to the home button then help and settings menu then clear or reset tivo box then clear thumb ratings and suggestions . Pop your pin in and enter 3 thumbs down and itll delete the thumb ratings but not your recorded programs and this will speed tje box back up .

Its all to do with the latest software update this is a workaround until a newer version is ready to be delivered by software download to the box

Hopw this helps
