I have recently added the Sky Sports package to my Virgin TV account and am extremely dissapointed at the picture quality, especially on live football matches.
The picture on the terrestrial channels is far better even when not in HD.
I agree and no doubt sky tv will be blamed.

Really sorry to hear you've had trouble with your picture quality.
I've located your account and I can see you've spoken to our team recently to get this sorted. Is the picture better now?
Let me know if you're still experiencing issues and I'll check it out.

I cannot really see any difference. The quality of the picture on Sky Sports is definately not as good as that of BBC for instance.
When watching MoTD on BBC (not in HD) the picture seems to flow better, the picture on the Sky Sports channels seems fuzzy around the edge of people when watching live programs.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Do you get any signal breakup or pixilation on screen when watching the sports channels?
No signal breakup or pixalation, just the players seem fuzzy around the edges on football matches.
Does not seem so bad when watching on MoTD on BBC.
I thought at first my TV might be a little slow to refresh until I noticed that other channels do not have this problem.
Have even tried another TV but get the same result.
When the action is slow, the picture seems a bit better.
If it happened on all sports coverage, I could understand it a bit more, but seems restricted to the Sky channels, especially football, etc
I've run diagnostics on your box and I can see an issue with your modem SNR that will need to be adjusted. I'd like to send a technician to check this out for you.
I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange an appointment.
Engineer arrived this afternoon and changed the old Cisco Tivo box for a new V6 box free of charge. Apparently this is what they are being told to do.
He saw the picture and agreed that it should be better, he also changed the cables for better ones.
Could see a bit of improvement, but still not as good as I would expect, so maybe thats standard definition Sky Sports for you.
I never remember having this problem when I was a Sky customer though.
