Setup problems

Just got a TiVo box to setup myself.

 

Got to the installing software screen and hit a problem, 

 

preparing = A tick

 

Connecting = Negotiating...and then Service not found

 

3 times and the same problem.

 

have phoned up to activate before I stated, but still no joy.

 

now have phoned up again, chap resent signal but still no go so have booked me a chap to come out Friday.

 

so do I get charged for this visit, is there something I'm not doing right ?? As I don't want to get hit by a call out fee.

You won't be charged. VM realise that sometimes self-installs fail for reasons beyond the customer's control.

I have exact same problem.
They are also sending me an engineer on Friday.

Sorry to hear that the installation of the TiVo® box didn't activate.

 

I'm glad you both have engineers appointments to check this over for you. If you can let us know how it went that would be great.

Hi
Engineer came today, he reset the box twice and pleased to say it is now working, so all good here.

Just now need to know how to use the tv guide, as its only showing the next 2 days !! then all it gives is " To be announced"

it'll populate over the next couple of "connections" or you can force it.

 

doing this from memory...

Help & Settings > Settings > Network > Force Connection...

 

once it does its thing, you'll be able to following the progress on the screen, give it an hour to allow the background processing to finish off.

 

repeat if required but I'm pretty sure it'll only need the one.
