Pause on new remote not working

Had installation today. All good except pause button does not work on live to or recorded programmes. All other buttons working fine

Obvious question first - you definitely had one of these boxes installed?

Phew - you definitely had a recording box installed then! Smiley Very Happy

It sounds like a faulty remote, which you'll have to ring in to request. When the box was installed, did the tech connect it to your SuperHub? If yes, then you can use the TV Anywhere app as a remote control in the interim.

No - the superhub wasnt up and working when he left - he left it installing after he had gone

Ah, not good.

If Record works, then you can sort of pause TV, but it may be a case of playing a little with the remote to see what else you can work out. Definitely them now though, the sooner the better!

Yes, record works, but other buttons like the red button, and text dont work.  Also cannot set up favourite channels as it doesnt respond when I press the remote to choose them

That's definitely a duff remote.

The sooner you ring them, the sooner one will be in the post.

If you have an older Virgin remote control then it should replicate the functionality in the interim.
