Once again Slow TIVO Box

Hi All,

I am seeing the same issues as a lot of other people in that my TIVO box is really slow, its slow to change channels access menus or the guides its painful trying to launch an app such at netflix, Why are Sky able to offer a fast snappy box but VM cannot offer anything faster than a commodore 64 (sorry commodore thats a bit of an insult) 

 

Any ideas or is it just the fact that the TIVO boxes are terrible, considering taking virgin up on their offer of cancelling my contract FOC due to the price increase and going to sky!

I'm sorry to read about the TiVo being slow, I've been into the services being fed into the home and I've not been able to see anything amiss here.

 

Can you tell me if this is happening all day, and also, where are you seeing this slowness specifically?

Thanks for your message back and it's all the time. It's. All aspects of the system unless I do a cold boot. If I cold boot it then it's great for a couple of days then it's painfully slow. The apps on the system are practically unusable all the time.

Is there anything you would likely to try or do?

Thanks for the reply, apologies for the late response.

 

I've been looking into this and I'll be highlighting this to find out what the root cause is with this, as you can certainly see a slowness but there's not much going on behind the scenes on the TiVo. I've done additional checks and everything is looking well with no signs of power level issues and the demand for the services are quite normal.

 

I'll have more information for you soon and update this thread.

I reboot ( switch off power) once every 14 days .

My Tivo speed is normal.

Bbc iplayer and Netflix will take 3 - 5 mins to load ( Not a fault )

I was having to reboot my TiVo box daily,
Sometimes I'd have no picture at all but the meanies would still work
Bbc I player well I'd have loved for it to load in 3-5 min but it was taking 10-15 and then crashing the box.

New box seems a lot better than the old one.

Just try rebooting every 14 days to keep it nice and smooth ....
