Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your TiVo®.
If you can hear it over your TV's sound then we definitely have a problem! The TiVo® does vibrate when switched on so you just need to make sure it isn't on a noisy surface (such as a glass shelf) as this can make the noise worse. If the box does rest on a surface like this, you can place something under it to dampen the vibrations, such as a tea towel or rubber mat.
