Noisy Box

I am a new to Virgin and previously with Sky. My TiVo makes constant noises when switched on. It has done this since I plugged it in at the weekend. 

Is this normal? 

I can even sometimes hear it over the volume of the TV. If this can't be fixed I may go back to Sky. Their box hardly made a sound.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your TiVo®.

 

If you can hear it over your TV's sound then we definitely have a problem! The TiVo® does vibrate when switched on so you just need to make sure it isn't on a noisy surface (such as a glass shelf) as this can make the noise worse. If the box does rest on a surface like this, you can place something under it to dampen the vibrations, such as a tea towel or rubber mat.
