New to VM and sky movies is blurred

Why do sky movies seem blurred? I had Sky prior to VM and never had problems.

VM have limited bandwidth, use outdated compression and "process" the signal more, compared with Sky, resulting in soft picture quality on many channels. They may offer to twiddle with your signal levels but unless you have high numbers of uncorrected errors on the diagnostics menu, then it is as good as it gets. Why did you leave Sky for this???

VM please do not phone me again to discuss my posts. I have not welcomed or invited such an intrusion.

Re: New to VM and sky movies is blurred

Hi fionamarie,

Welcome to the forums Smiley Happy

I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting the best picture on the Sky Movie channels.  This isn't the best start but we'd like to make this better.

I have carried out some checks, at the moment I can see you do have an engineer calling out to get this fixed which is great to see.

I've taken a closer look anyway at your boxes and there is a slight issue with the signal which is worth looking at.

It would be great to hear back how you get on, please keep me posted on how things go.

I look forward to hearing from you. Smiley Happy

Re: New to VM and sky movies is blurred

A blurred picture is more likely down to the tv not being manually setup to best perameters for the new input.

But your definition of 'blurred' may be different to mine.
