Just got my new Tivo box through today and can't seem to get it to activate. Get to the 'Welcome' page and its not wanting to get past the 'Preparing' part. All I seem to be getting is a message that says 'Connection unsuccessful - restart & call if this happens again', followed by 'Preparing - (check cables before restarting)'.
I've pulled the whole thing apart a few times and almost got it to activate once - it got past the initial 'Preparing' part, but hung on the 'Connecting' part, then failed. Everything is connected fine and the card is in properly.
I called support and the girl on the other end said she couldn't see any issues with my connection, but she sent a signal or something. She called back an hour later to see if things were any better, but nothing had changed. Now I'm supposed to wait for a call in the next 24-hours to organize an engineer visit, which is going to be next week now (as its the weekend).
Am I missing something obvious here? Is there something I can else I can try?
Here what I've tried so far:
-reboot (multiple times).
-removing the splitter and plugging the cable from the wall directly into the Tivo box.
-booting with no cable\card in, then plugging it all in.
The only lights I have on it are the power and the heartbeat, which is flashing.
