Moving home - transfering recordings

Hi,
I'm moving home in a couple of weeks, and wish to use virgin media at my new home.
I am currently renting a property with friends, who use the TiVo box more than I do.
When I move two friends are staying and wish to continue the virgin service.

Virgin customer services told me there are only two ways I can do this;
1. is take the old box and one of my housemates joins as new customer, we both get new deals
2. transfer my contract to a housemate (£20 charge) and join as a new customer myself.

While option 1. is more lucrative to us both, it would mean my friends would lose their recordings, while any recordings I have are neither here nor there.

Virgin customer services told me I could download them onto a USB Stick but he "didn't have a clue how" and told me "there are youtube videos" that I've not found.

Just wondering if theres a third option I could explore?

Cheers,
Jason

Re: Moving home - transfering recordings

There is no way to download recordings, so I'm not sure where that's come from.

The two options you've been given are the only two available. Unfortunately there is no third option.

There is a 3rd option.

It is to buy a DVD recorder and transfer the recordings in real time via the scart out to DVDs.

100Mb(SH2 SH2AC Hub 3.0), 100Mb Business 5 Static IP (Hitron Hub)
TiVo V6 Player TV
Sky Q Entertainment, HD & Box Sets,
