At present, my SuperHub is upstaits, and my TiVo box is downstairs.
Each has their own separate cable connection.
I want to move the SuperHub downstairs, into the same room as the TiVo box, to improve wifi reception.
Do I need some kind of splitter, so that the SuperHub and the TiVo are both connected to the cable independently, or can I plug the cable into the SuperHub, and then the Tivo into the SuperHub (via ethernet cable)?
VM not only owns your boxes, but the coaxial connections that form part of the local network. DIY changes can affect that network, & cause problems not only for you but for your neighbours as well. So the advice is don't mess with it.
A non-fault callout has a standard charge of £99. This covers changes to the wiring, & any adjustments required at the street cabinet to rebalance your signal levels. Virgin do provide kits that include the splitters & short lengths of the specialised cable required. But if level adjustments are required, these would be of no use.
