LACK OF BANDWITH WARNINGS

Since we had a 2nd Tivo box installed last month watching movies on Netflix or on-demand has become a pain as they keep stopping to buffer with a warning that there isn't enough bandwidth. Everything worked fine before! We have 70mb broadband and never use the boxes at the same time. What can I do?

The standard TiVo does not use your own broadband for its streaming - it has its own.

You'll need to call them to get them to check the levels on TiVo.

Could be signal level. Could be an over-utilisation problem.

Ozsat is correct in that TiVO boxes do not share your Broadband connection. What is less common knowledge is that most of them use a different system.

All Superhubs now run on VM's DOCSIS 3 network, where as a lot of TiVO boxes are still configured to work alongside a handfull on VM's legacy modems of the older DOCSIS 1 kit back at the headend.

Hi Josh

Yes the engineer came out on Thursday, adjusted the attenuation on the super hub and all was working fine for a day! Unfortunately by Friday evening we had lost the broadband completely and are now cast adrift without internet, Netflix, etc .....waiting for an engineer to come back! More unpaid time off work, brilliant!
