Keeping Tivo

I've just replaced my Tivo box with a V6. I want to use the Tivo in another room to access TV channels but I need to do some work first (drilling holes etc). Can I reactivate the Tivo at a later date?

Also, can I buy a splitter and coax and run the cable to the other room myself?

Re: Keeping Tivo

You should not attempt this yourself. Your TiVo will no longer be active and paid for on your account.

Re: Keeping Tivo

I know that it will no longer be active and that I will have to pay an extra £7.50. Can Virgin re-activate it remotely or will it require an engineer?

Re: Keeping Tivo

I’m not sure if it can be re-activated now as it may have been written off by Virgin Media. Even if it could be re-activated, you would have to have an extra co-ax point to plug it into.

Re: Keeping Tivo

You cannot buy the cable used by Virgin, You would need a tech to visit and do the cabling for a second box and check the levels and maybe adjust in the street cabinet. If you are going to all that bother I would have a second V6 with an engineer install. Probably cheaper than paying £99 for the cabling.
