Is my TIVO box on it's way out ?

Hi, Over the last three weeks by TiVo box has completely crashed a few times when trying to fast forward/rewind and takes several minutes to reboot. It is happening more and more and last night ( watching the equaliser ) was frustrating because it happended at a key moment in the movie. I also like to have subtitles on late in the evening so as not to disturb kids but these no longer work even after  removing plug, waiting 30 seconds to reset and start again. Is my Box failing do you think or is this common problems ?
