Iplayer check Internet connection

All On Demand is OK but iplayer returns the above message. What's going on?

Unlike the rest of On Demand, BBC iPlayer uses TiVo's internet connection. You must have a problem with this internet connection.

I would try a re-boot of the TiVo to see if it corrects the issue.

I too have the same issue, other catchup services seem to be OK

Nope its same in my mothers house and she has no Internet only TV+Phone, the Tivos internet connection is to blame and the status page shows faults in my area but I assume the Tivos are as slow everywhere by experience using and reading these forums.

Half the menus do not appear and are blank even after a reboot.

...so there's an area issue.

Your mother's TiVo, even although she does not have Virgin Media broadband, still has its own internet connection.

You have two internet connections. The one you use and TiVo's own internet connection that it uses for iPlayer. It's the latter that appears broken in your area.

I know that and hinted at it above, but its the same thing in that the end user cannot do anything to fix it and Tivos are slow period.

The Tivo actually has 20Mb/s ability but its limited for now to 10Mb/s.

I really am regretting getting here these 2 Tivos (New not recon Samsung 1TB's) 2 years ago, VM can upgrade here to V6's free of charge as these have always been unfit for purpose since day 1.

I got a lists of temp fixes for the speed but it lasts a few days at most.

The faults in her area are not for on demand (going by status page) but I bet its all related but with no faults is still slow as a week in the jail.

I have no doubt when the faults are cleared the IPlayer will work by some magic.

Thank you for sharing your message, I am sorry to read that there has been some issues on the iPlayer.

 

I have been testing the TiVo connection and all is looking good however there are some signal levels that are concerning. I would need to be addressed ASAP.
