If you replace a TiVo, you can't keep existing recordings. They are lost.
You can recover your Series Link+s.
The hard disks in these units are provided to allow you to timeshift programmes to a more convenient time for viewing. They are not designed (or licenced) to hold recordings permanently.

You can move over the recordings schedule and if you can make note of the recordings you have already, I'm sure the new box will be able to pick up the majority right away and then some over time.
