Home network viewing limitations.

Some while ago, I connected two of my Tivo boxes to my home network and successfully viewed the content on one box from another. However, I soon realised it was pointless because of copyright restrictions that meant it would only work on a few channels. Most were blocked, especially many free to air channels which always seemed odd to me.

Anyway, with the new Sky Q box, I'm assuming that all recordings will be available wirelessly from one unit/device to another so as we await VM's new box to rival Sky, can we assume that anything recorded will be available throughout the house?

Re: Home network viewing limitations.

You should look again at TiVo MRS as most channels can now be streamed between boxes and have been for some time.

Re: Home network viewing limitations.

Ah, thanks for that.

To be fair, it is sometime since I tried it.
Let's hope VM gets it right as matching Sky Q does look to be quite a challenge.
